The Crown’s filming locations in Andalusia

Surely you know the Netflix series titled The Crown. Olive Colman is Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Emma Corrin is Diana, princess of Wales. This is about the life of Queen Elizabeth II in the 40s. And the series has 4 seasons that gradually reveal details of her personal life. In addition to being a series very well received by critics that has a Golden Globe award for best drama series, it is also very loved by the public, today we bring some details about the recording that you probably did not know! Part of season 4 is recorded in Spain !! Specifically in Malaga, Almería and Cádiz. Now follow our steps and let’s check out The Crown’s filming locations in Andalusia.

1.Málaga

Australia happens to be on the streets of Málaga.  The first images that we can see thanks to Netflix are of Hotel Málaga Palacio. In this season we can see places like Postigo de los Abades street, the cathedral, the military residence of Castañón de Mena and also a villa in the Limonar neighborhood.

2.Almería

The famous Ayers Rock in Australia is the place of Llano del Búho, near the Tabernas desert, in Almería.

3.Seville

Towns of Seville, such as the city itself and San Juan de Aznalfarache. San Juan de Aznalfarache, which became Greece in the 1950s.

4.Cádiz

It also passes through the Campo de Gibraltar in Cádiz! Specifically in the town of San Martín del Tesorillo.

But not only the fourth season is recorded here, but also the third was recordered in Andalusia!

In the next picture, we can see El Palacio de Congresos of Torremolinos in Málaga to recreate Los Angeles Airport.

The University Campus of El Río de San Pedro in Puerto Real was transformed into the port where Prince Carlos embarked.

Arsenal de la Carraca in San Fernando is also the port where Prince Charles embarked.

In Jerez de la Frontera you can see the convent of Santo Domingo de Jerez turned into a hospital. We also have images of the Peñuelo farm to recreate a chalet where the couple was staying.

The streets of Sotogrande served to set  the visit to the United States of Princess Margarita and her husband Antony Armstrong-Jones and others scenes.

Cádiz is the perfect setting for filming due to its luminous streets and natural landscapes… Do you remember the scene from the James Bond film “Die another day” where the famous Halle Berry comes out of the water from the beach? Well, it was filmed neither more nor less than in La Caleta!
