“Located in the central Plaza de la Candelaria, Contraseña is impressively run by a husband-and-wife team. This couple first met in London and finally unpacked their suitcases here! With a minimalist-style dining room and a kitchen visible to diners.

Enjoy a creative cuisine featuring impressive combinations and distinct local flavors designed to surprise, whether you’re enjoying a romantic dinner or a meal with friends. The stated aim here? That we eat with our eyes, discover with our sense of smell, and savor with our tastebuds!”

“It’s not easy finding Japanese cuisine in this area, hence the added attraction of this restaurant close to the Playa del Carmen and the port. Chef Álvaro Rivera fell in love with Japan’s culinary philosophy while working at Kabuki Raw. He promotes a similar gastronomic concept, with his fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean cooking based around the best local products. In the dining room, with its dominant blue color scheme and open-view kitchen. Offering to his guests an à la carte of sashimi, nigiri, and harumaki, an array of daily suggestions, plus two impressive set menus.”

“A breath of fresh air for the dining scene in Sanlúcar and the Bajo de Guía where the food offer is often limited to seafood and fried fish. This restaurant is located in the Posada de Palacio hotel.

It combines a rustic-contemporary layout with antique details more in keeping with the architecture of the building. The à la carte features modern cooking that showcases local products. Alongside two tasting menus, all of which bear witness to the chef’s impressive presentational skills!”

“This family-run restaurant opened its doors in 1951. It used to be a  simple seaside “taberna” serving Manzanilla sherry to the fishermen from the town’s Bajo de Guía district. Over the years, Fernando Bigote and his children have gradually expanded the business.

Choosing from delicious fried delicacies, fish and seafood stews. But above all, the spectacular prawns for which the restaurant is renowned.”

“This family-run business has a welcoming bar at the entrance, with several tables for tapas-style dining. Also it has a bright “asador’-style dining room surrounded by large windows and a profusion of wood. Its extensive à la carte is a clear reflection of its passion for meat (including game) and traditional recipes, although it also includes some good fish and more contemporary-style dishes.”

“If you’re unfamiliar with Chipiona’s local specialties, this restaurant by the marina will provide you the perfect introduction.

The products come from the local fish auction. It has a pleasant tapas bar, a maritime-inspired dining room, and an outstanding terrace.  And the terrace is just a few meters from the impressive yachts of the seaport. We highly recommend the famous “langostinos de alba”.”
