  • NATURAL PARKS:

If what you want is to reconnect with nature and enjoy the outdoors in a natural environment, we have the solution.

Cádiz is a province that can offer us very different and recommendable natural environments to visit. One of the things we can do is a visit to the different natural parks in the province.

Among the many that there are, we recommend the following ones:

  1.  LAS BREÑAS NATURAL PARK:

Located between Barbate, Vejer and Los Caños de Meca. It has 5 completely different ecosystems. It is considered one of the most diverse natural parks in Andalusia. You can find one of the highest cliffs on the Andalusian coast, known as Tajo de Barbate.

  1. 2. EL ESTRECHO NATURAL PARK:

Located in Tarifa, it is in a unique place since it is between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. This Park offers us a very wide wealth both on a natural and historical level. We can find one of the oldest and best-preserved archaeological sites, Baelo Claudia.

Baelo Claudia was an ancient Roman city around the 2nd century BC. It is believed that it had great importance as a commercial port. It has great importance in the study of Roman history due to its high level of conservation. Today we can go on excursions and discover this great site with the help of experts.

At the same time, it offers us great possibilities when it comes to activities such as water activites, whale watching or ornithology. There’s plenty of experiences you can have in this natural park so don’t miss it!

  1. LOS ALCORNOCALES NATURAL PARK:

Located in the heart of the Sierra de Cádiz. It is the third largest natural park in all of Andalusia. The flora and fauna stand out for its diversity, although the most famous is the extraction of cork.

It is the largest cork forest in all of Spain and one of the largest in the world. Cork is a biodegradable material so its demand continues to increase. Each harvest takes place every 9 or 12 years. Routes are carried out accompanied by guides that explain the entire extraction process and its importance in the ecosystem.

Is a hiking route located in the natural park “Sierra de Grazalema”. It is an easy path, without any difficulty. Can be done with children, so is perfect if you’re planning a familiar trip. There are also areas where in summer we can enjoy a bath in the icy waters of the Majaceite River.

The path is linear. It can be done the round trip in the same day since being easy there is not much difficulty. It has a distance of 5’74km and it takes approximately 1’30h to complete it.
