1. Diocesan Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Palomares

Although what remains of the parish dates from 1906, the location of the parish is the same since the 15th century, when the appearance of the Virgin was documented in the chapel, where the patron saint of the San Sebastian people was worshiped. It suffered a great fire that forced it to be demolished due to its poor condition in 1742. The altarpiece that is inside is a work by Pedro de Asensio, which has a baroque style.

2. Trebujena Castle

Also known as the Guzmanes’ Castle or Guzmán el Bueno’s Castle. This fortress has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The origin of this castle is Arab, from the 13th century. After the reconquest, it was taken by Guzmán el Bueno.

3. Parish of the Immaculate Conception

The parish is a work of the XVIII century. It has a rectangular floor plan and consists of three naves. It also has two different chapels and a tower where the bell tower was located. The main figure is a 17th century baroque crucified and a 16th century virgin with child in a Renaissance style.

4. Cortijo de Alventu

It takes its name from the jetty that is located nearby and that in Roman times served as a river port. It is a group of buildings around a large central patio, like the classic Andalusian farmhouses. Nearby is a prehistoric monument, the Alventu cave. It is an artificial cave with a funerary function. It was intentionally blocked at some point in history and has remained that way.

5. Trebujena Windmill

It is a construction in an Arab-inspired style, on the outskirts of Trebujena, at the back of the Guadalquivir River. You can see the remains of the wheat mill that they used to create flour. Almost everything is preserved, but the movable top has not been maintained.

6. Las Haciendas Trail

It is the only path in Cádiz that runs between the vineyards. It is a 6.68 kilometer route. Its main point is the Mirador del Redondo, from which you can see the vineyards that surround Trebujena with the Guadalquivir river. During the journey you can see a great variety of native birds in the area.

7. The Palomar de Palomares

  • Verbena de San Juan: Every night from June 23 at 12 at night (early morning from June 23 to 24) the Juanillos burned. Juanillos are handcraft rag dolls.
